We are hiring a motivated Technical Lead – Platform & Operations Owner to join a small, high-calibre Sydney-based team. This is a senior individual contributor role with deep ownership and accountability – yet not a C-suite or people-management position. You will own the Financial Simplicity V1 platform end-to-end, taking full responsibility for its delivery, stability, operations, support, and ongoing improvement, ensuring it operates reliably, predictably, and quietly with client SLAs consistently met and no surprises for management or executives.
You’ll help shape product and technology planning, resolve real customer problems, and bring clarity and confidence to complex systems. AI forms part of our current and future roadmap, so exposure to or strong interest in AI-enabled development is important.
This is a full-time, in-office role in Sydney; we value focus and outcomes, ship high-quality software, and optimise the use of our time.

Junior Software Developer (0-2 Years)
This role is designed for an early-career developer who wants to build real software on real systems, used by real clients. At Financial Simplicity, you’ll work side-by-side with experienced engineers, product leaders, and domain experts, contributing meaningful code from day one. This is a hands-on, in-office role at our Sydney HQ, ideal for someone who learns best by being in the room, asking questions, and getting stuck in.
As a Junior Software Developer, you’ll work across the full stack, gaining exposure to backend systems, databases, frontend interfaces, and deployment processes. Under the guidance of senior developers, you’ll help build new features, fix bugs, participate in code reviews, and learn how production software is designed, tested, and operated. You’ll be trusted to take initiative, develop strong engineering habits, and continuously deepen your understanding of how professional systems work.

Portfolio Assurance Application Engineer
As a Portfolio Assurance Application Engineer, you will take the lead in ensuring that all the various aspects of Financial Simplicity’s technologies deliver to their promise in terms of precision, scope and performance. With a strong acumen for quantitive methods, leveraging software development and AI techniques, you will take the lead role in ‘creating the machine that tests our machines’.
This is a role for a highly conceptual and numerate thinker who is hungry to learn about the investing and wealth management industries and deliver world leading methods for assurance testing across web and algorithmic applications.
Ideal candidates will have recently graduated, be highly computer literate, keen to explore and leverage AI methods in software and testing.
