Why
If you’re looking for a role where your work matters – and where you can grow fast by working directly alongside some of the best in the industry – this is it. At Financial Simplicity, you’ll be part of a small, sharp engineering team tackling real problems for real customers in one of the most dynamic and future-focused sectors: personalised wealth management. This is a place for builders, problem-solvers, and curious minds who want to stretch themselves in the way technology and AI is used in cloud engineering, and emerging AI technologies.
Who we are
At Financial Simplicity, we’re reshaping the future of personalised wealth management. Our platform empowers leading wealth firms to deliver scalable, compliant, and truly tailored investment portfolios to every client. We sit at the intersection of finance and technology, helping our clients go beyond traditional models with smart automation, mandate-driven oversight, and operational assurance. With deep integration into Australia’s top platforms and a growing global footprint, we’re a mission-driven team building tools that matter – for advisers, for investors, and for the future of financial services.
The Role
We are hiring a motivated Technical Lead – Platform & Operations Owner to join a small, high-calibre Sydney-based team. This is a senior individual contributor role with deep ownership and accountability – yet not a C-suite or people-management position. You will own the Financial Simplicity V1 platform end-to-end, taking full responsibility for its delivery, stability, operations, support, and ongoing improvement, ensuring it operates reliably, predictably, and quietly with client SLAs consistently met and no surprises for management or executives.
V1 is a successful, business-critical but aged platform built on .NET / C# / SQL Server that continues to serve clients today, while the business transitions toward a modern, future-facing technology stack and architecture (V2). In this role, you will stabilise and steward V1 while progressively contributing to – and ultimately transitioning into – a similar steady-state ownership role for the V2 platform and operations. You will be hands-on, high-energy, and proactive, with strong communication and problem-solving skills, a practical mindset, and a focus on getting things done.
You’ll help shape product and technology planning, resolve real customer problems, and bring clarity and confidence to complex systems. AI forms part of our current and future roadmap, so exposure to or strong interest in AI-enabled development is important.
This is a full-time, in-office role in Sydney; we value focus and outcomes, ship high-quality software, and optimise the use of our time.
